PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2012

PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2012 was held on October 23-26 in Prague, The Czech Republic, at the Corinthia hotel. You can expect three days packed with presentations about PostgreSQL and related technologies, one day of extended trainings, and the usual hallway and social track!

The first talk is about a PostgreSQL Migration (from MySQL) of the Fotolog web site with 32 millions of users, 1 billion photos and 10 billion comments on those photos. The target architecture has been deployed to AWS.

The second presentation is a Ligthning Talk about PGQ Cooperative Consumers, that allow sharing the load in between multiple consumers on the same transactional queue.

Postgres Open, 2012

PostgresOpen is a non–profit, community–run conference series in the United States focused on business users, database professionals and developers of PostgreSQL, the open source database. This year PostgresOpen has combined forces with PGConf Silicon Valley to bring together two large Postgres conferences to create an even larger more exciting event.

Extensions are good for Business Logic addresses how to package and deploy your own PostgreSQL Extension to production, and implement business logic in a centralized and transactional way.
